RON95 quality, waste management, unlicensed foreign drivers top Dewan Rakyat agenda today

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5 — The quality of RON95 petrol samples, mitigation of solid waste landfills, and enforcement against foreigners driving without valid licences are among the key issues slated for discussion in the Dewan Rakyat today.

According to the Order Paper on the Parliament portal, Kuala Krai MP Abdul Latiff Abdul Rahman will ask the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister to state the analysis outcome of RON95 samples across five states and depots during the Minister's Question Time.

He is also seeking information on the government's immediate measures to restore consumer confidence and the compensation for affected vehicle owners.

In the same session, Betong MP Datuk Dr Richard Rapu @ Aman Begri will ask the Housing and Local Government Ministry about the long-term strategy for critical open dumpsites under rural local authorities, as well as mitigation plans for districts without Waste-to-Energy (WTE) plants to curb daily waste accumulation.

Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Muhammad is scheduled to ask the Transport Minister to elaborate on enforcement mechanisms against foreigners, including United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) cardholders and undocumented immigrants driving motor vehicles without a valid licence, during the oral question-and-answer session.

Simpang Renggam MP Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad is scheduled to ask the Home Minister to state the progress of the early detection radar system, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and satellite systems, the percentage of 24-hour surveillance coverage, and the asset capability gaps of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) that remain critical.

Batang Sadong MP Rodiyah Sapiee is also scheduled to ask about the government's preparedness measures to prevent and address haze episodes, as the El Nino phenomenon is expected to persist until mid-2027.

At the conclusion of the question-and-answer session, the Dewan Rakyat will continue with the committee stage debate and ministerial replies for the Supply (Budget) Bill 2027 and the Motion on the 2027 Development Expenditure Estimates.

The committee stage debate and winding-up session for Budget 2027 is scheduled to run until November 26, according to the Dewan Rakyat calendar.

The Dewan Rakyat is scheduled to sit for 37 days until December 8.
