SHAH ALAM, Nov 3 — The Selangor government will strengthen the state’s aerospace industry by developing local talent to generate more high-skill jobs, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said collaborations with related agencies, industry players and education institutions will be empowered to cement Selangor’s position as a competitive aerospace hub.
“The development of local talent must move in tandem with efforts to attract investment.
“We want Selangor’s children to have the skills and opportunities to build careers in hi-tech industries, allowing them to participate in this sector’s growth,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday after visiting the Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA) in Banting.

During the visit, Amirudin chaired the Selangor Aerospace Council Meeting No.1/2026, which he said covered results from the Selangor Aerospace Action Plan Midterm Assessment, aerospace project developments, and incentives to support talent development.
“This (midterm) assessment is important to ensure the state’s aerospace sector’s direction is in line with industry needs and developments,” he explained.
Before the meeting, Amirudin toured MYSA’s satellite assembly, integration and testing facility that was built in 2011. It allows satellite and satellite components to be tested on Earth in launch and space simulations, including strong vibrations, extreme temperature changes, and vacuum conditions to ensure the devices are resilient and function well on missions.
