SHAH ALAM, Nov 2 — Several residents of a private drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre in Bukit Kuda, Klang, were allegedly taken away by a group of men and women without the management's consent last week, prompting a police investigation.
Klang Utara district police chief ACP Ramsay Embol said police received a report from the centre's owner on October 28 regarding the incident.
"The number of residents involved is still under investigation. We will provide updates as they become available," he said in a statement last night, adding that investigations had established that the rehabilitation centre was privately owned.
Ramsay said the case was being investigated under Section 447 of the Penal Code for criminal trespass, which carries a penalty of up to six months' imprisonment, a fine of RM3,000 or both upon conviction.
