KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 — TSH Resources Bhd has voluntarily offered to engage with a Singapore government panel of assessors to evaluate its operations, corporate relationships and supply chains in connection with fires in Indonesia that have contributed to transboundary haze.
The move follows notices issued by Singapore's National Environment Agency (NEA) to the group's Singapore-incorporated subsidiaries, TSH Oversea Pte Ltd and TSH Global Plantation Pte Ltd, under Section 10(1) of the Transboundary Haze Pollution Act 2014.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the plantation group said it had written to the NEA to confirm its participation and commitment to cooperating with the assessors in conducting their assessment, in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements, as directed by the agency.
"The company shares the government's concern over the impact of the fires and haze and welcomes the opportunity to engage constructively with the relevant authorities and independent assessors," it said, adding that TSH continued to cooperate fully and transparently with the authorities.
The company said it would provide further updates if there were any material developments in the matter.
