MELAKA, Oct 30 — Pakatan Harapan is aiming to win 18 of the 24 seats it will contest in the Melaka election, including the five seats it previously won.
Melaka Harapan chairman Adly Zahari said the target is based on an assessment of the coalition’s machinery strength, candidates’ capabilities and the level of public acceptance in areas it will contest.
“Our target from the outset has been 18 state seats., so we know we have the capability to win these 18 seats while working to retain the five seats we hold,” he told reporters after a hi-tea event with Melaka media practitioners in Ayer Keroh here today.
Melaka Keadilan acting chairman Adam Adli Abd Halim was also present.
Adly, who is the Bukit Katil incumbent and deputy defence minister, said that of the 24 Harapan candidates, 10 are from Keadilan, seven are from Amanah and seven are from DAP.
Polling day is November 14, with nominations tomorrow and early voting on November 10.
