KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 — Pakatan Harapan will announce its list of candidates for the Melaka election on October 24, said election director Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
“Before October 24, I will decide (the candidate list) with the president and the top leadership,” he told reporters after the Selangor AI & Semiconductor Summit (AiSEM), held in conjunction with the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today.
Amirudin said Harapan has been earmarking potential candidates of diverse backgrounds since 2024, and expressed confidence in their ability to contest.
“Some are young, some are old, some are successful, some are experienced, but they (all) deserve to be elected,” he said.
Amirudin previously said the Harapan’s election preparations were going smoothly, with seat distribution among its component parties already decided.
The Election Commission has set October 31 as nomination day for the 16th Melaka election, with early voting on November 10 and polling day on November 14.
