SHAH ALAM, July 25 — Over 100 young entrepreneurs are gaining practical business experience through the Selangor State Development Corporation's (PKNS) Entrepreneur Carnival (KUP) 2026, which provides a platform for participants to test their products, engage with customers, and apply entrepreneurial knowledge in a real business environment.

PKNS group deputy chief executive officer (Strategic Partnership) Md Kamarzan Md Rais said the initiative aimed to strengthen the development of Bumiputera entrepreneurs by enabling participants to enhance their business skills and evaluate their market strategies at commercial locations.

"KUP 2026 is a practical training platform designed to allow young entrepreneurs to experience the realities of running a business rather than relying solely on theory.

"Through direct exposure, they can test their business resilience, assess product marketability, and build confidence in managing daily operations professionally," he said during the launch of KUP 2026, which was also attended by PKNS entrepreneur development manager Yuzawati Yusof at Kompleks PKNS today.

As a new initiative this year, Kamarzan said PKNS introduced the Strategic Expo Participation Management Module to prepare participants systematically before joining sales platforms.

The module focuses on setting participation objectives, identifying target customers, developing effective communication strategies, improving product presentation techniques, and evaluating post-event sales performance.

"We want entrepreneurs to maximise business opportunities strategically and not merely set up booths without proper planning to attract visitors.

"Through KUP 2026 and this new module, we hope entrepreneurs can assess their product strengths and build confidence to explore wider markets in the future," he said.

Kamarzan added that PKNS remains committed to strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem through practical, inclusive and high-impact approaches to support Selangor's economic growth.

Held for three days until tomorrow, KUP 2026 brings together participants from four PKNS entrepreneur development programmes: the Tunas Niaga Programme (PROTUNe), Graduate Entrepreneur Programme (GROW), Advanced Graduate Entrepreneur Programme (GROW PLUS), and BIZCLUB Exclusive Programme.

Approximately 122 sales booths have been provided for participants to market products and services across various segments, including food and beverages, fashion, beauty, and health.

The carnival also features interactive activities such as the Entrepreneur Development Division Pavilion, 360 Business Counselling, entrepreneur demonstration competitions, and the Coffee & Chill area.

Visitors to Kompleks PKNS can also enjoy Happy Hour promotions and take part in 50 lucky draws.
