PUTRAJAYA, Oct 26 — The Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (MOSTI) has received several complaints about irresponsible parties misusing its name and identity, as well as those of its officers, to collect payments and conduct unauthorised transactions.
It views the matter seriously and stressed that using MOSTI's name, logo, or official identity without authorisation does not imply that any matter has received approval or involves the ministry.
"All official dealings must be conducted through the channels and procedures established by the ministry," MOSTI said in a statement today.
Accordingly, it advises the public and industry players to verify matters through the ministry's official channels before making any payment or taking action based on suspicious communications.
MOSTI also reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the public service and protecting the interests of the public and industry players against all forms of fraud and identity misuse.
