KLANG, Oct 21 — Administrators across Selangor’s districts have pledged to continue improving service delivery to ensure it is more efficient, transparent, responsive, and accountable, in the interests of the people and the state’s development.
Klang District Officer Mohd Hasry Nor Mohd said the decrees and views of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, particularly on governance and integrity, remain important guiding principles in carrying out their duties.
“Trust is a responsibility entrusted to us by His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and the people, and it must be safeguarded with the utmost awareness of our obligations.
“Our greater responsibility is to ensure that every policy, plan, and development initiative genuinely benefits the people and improves their well-being,” he said.
He was delivering a welcoming address at the second Majlis Jamuan Teh Diraja Bersama Rakyat, held in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee celebrations marking the Sultan's reign at Istana Alam Shah today.
Hasry also pledged unwavering loyalty to Sultan Sharafuddin, vowing to uphold the royal institution, safeguard its sovereignty, and preserve social harmony in their respective districts.
The pledge also encompasses a commitment to discharge their duties responsibly, strengthen service delivery, and make every effort to ensure Selangor continues to progress as a prosperous, safe, competitive, and respected state.
“Indeed, I believe that the principles "the King and the people are inseparable" (Raja dan rakyat berpisah tiada) and "the sovereign King shelters the people" (Raja berdaulat, memayungi umat) will continue to form the foundation for strengthening the relationship between the royal institution and the people,” he said.
Earlier, His Royal Highness attended the event, accompanied by the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah.
The second Majlis Jamuan Teh Diraja Bersama Rakyat was the third of five events organised in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee.
