SHAH ALAM, Oct 19 — The 25-year reign of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj has been commemorated through the launch of a book, special stamps, and a commemorative silver coin in conjunction with His Royal Highness’s Silver Jubilee.
The Sultan officiated the ceremony at the Raja Tun Uda Library in Shah Alam today as part of the historic celebration.
Also in attendance were the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah. Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari was also present.
The book, titled Menjulang Takhta: 25 Tahun Pemerintahan Sultan Selangor, chronicles His Royal Highness’s reign and serves as a historical record highlighting the heritage of the state’s royal institution.
Meanwhile, a special envelope and commemorative stamps produced in collaboration with Pos Malaysia feature royal symbols reflecting the identity and distinctive heritage of the Selangor Sultanate.
These include the Balairung Seri, the Tengkolok Balung Raja, the Keris Terapang Gabus, and the Bunga Tanjung (Mimusops elengi).
The stamps also serve as a medium for introducing royal art and heritage to the public, particularly younger generations.
In addition, the commemorative silver coin, produced by the Selangor State Treasury, pays tribute to Sultan Sharafuddin’s 25-year reign.
The special releases not only mark His Royal Highness’s Silver Jubilee but also serve as treasured keepsakes that can be preserved and passed down to future generations.
