KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 — Selangor is aiming to log RM63.7 billion in green investments by 2035 under the Selangor Green Economy Agenda 2025-2035 (SAGE), said Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, Group chief executive officer Dato’ Saipolyazan M. Yusop.
SAGE was soft-launched by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari during the Selangor Investment Forum closing ceremony, during Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS), at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today. Also present were state executive councillor for public health and environment Jamaliah Jamaluddin and Deputy State Secretary (Management) Dato’ Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim.
Saipolyazan said that under the plan, Selangor aims to generate 7.4GW of green energy to boost power security and support the state’s transition to cleaner energy sources.

Saipolyazan said the green energy transition must present wider benefits, including by creating jobs, improving industry competitiveness, and bettering people’s quality of life.
“Through SAGE, we are building strategic foundations that link Selangor’s sustainability aspirations with investment opportunities and long-term economic development,” he said in a statement today.
He added that the green energy transition could help the business sector use fewer resources, manage operation costs, and improve productivity, with the added benefit that investors may explore new fields including clean energy solutions, resource conservation, sustainable infrastructure, and low-carbon transport, besides allowing SMEs more room for participation.
He also said the green agenda’s success mustn’t only be assessed by investment value, but also business development, improved efficiency, and long-term benefits to the state and people.
“In line with the Second Selangor Plan (RS-2), SAGE aims to connect Selangor’s economic priorities with required investment, infrastructure and industrial capabilities to support sustainable development in the long term,” Saipolyazan added.
