KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 — Speed Selangor 2.0, to be launched next year, is set to make the approval of high-impact projects more efficient, building upon the existing initiative’s success in facilitating developments in Cyberjaya and Elmina.
Selangor State Economic Planning Unit’s (UPEN) Local Authorities Section deputy director Norazlina Yusof said among Speed Selangor’s successes is a data centre project in Cyberjaya being approved in five days.
“The Elmina Advanced Logistics Hub was approved in seven days, while two hyperscale data centres in Elmina Business Park took nine days (to approve),” she said at Selangor Investment Forum (SIF), held as part of Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today.
Norazlina said the initiative focuses on strategic projects that support investment growth, especially in the industrial and technology sectors.
“Among developments prioritised are factories, warehouses and logistics facilities that are important infrastructure for the manufacturing, technology and supply chain sectors.
“For the commercial category, this initiative covers private hospitals, private universities and private education institutions,” she added.

Norazlina also said Speed Selangor aims to expedite planning permit approvals, standardise application procedures, and improve the efficiency of service delivery.
“The early assessment and pre-consultation stages are allocated 21 days, encompassing project eligibility checks and support documentation.
“Application evaluation and decisions (must be done) within nine days,” she explained.
Speed Selangor was launched on October 8, 2025, to expedite development and business licence approvals in the state. It targets a maximum approval period of 30 days, compared with three to 12 months previously.
Meanwhile, SIBS is being held until Saturday and targets a potential transaction value of RM8 million and at least 500 high-impact business-matching sessions.
The 10th edition of SIBS is a platform that gathers local and international industry players and investors to explore investment opportunities, build business networks, and expand strategic collaborations.
