SHAH ALAM, Oct 10 — Two men suffered burns in a fire that engulfed the ground floor of a double-storey terrace house and destroyed a car in Taman Muda, Ampang, this morning.
The two victims aged in their 30s and 60s managed to escape before the fire department arrived at the scene.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Assistant Director Ashrul Riezal Asbar stated that they received an emergency call at 8.33am.
According to him, eight personnel from the Pandan Indah Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were rushed to the location and arrived three minutes later.
"The fire involved the ground floor of a double-storey terrace house, resulting in approximately 60 per cent damage.
"A Perodua Myvi car was also 70 per cent destroyed by the fire," he said in a statement today, as reported by *Berita Harian*.Ashrul said the fire caused both male occupants to sustain burn injuries.
He added that both victims were sent to the hospital for treatment following the incident.
The victims were transported using a Health Ministry ambulance and the fire department's Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle.
According to Ashrul, the fire was brought under control at 8.45am.
