SHAH ALAM, Sept 24 — Rapid KL will provide free special shuttle bus services during the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from October 2 to 4.
“Rapid KL will prepare 95 buses for the special shuttle loop service, to ensure visitors’ movement from key locations to the event venue is easier and more comfortable,” it said in a statement posted to Facebook today.
It added that the service, provided in collaboration with SIC, is available at the following locations:
KLIA Terminal 2 bus hub, Level 1
KLIA Mitsui bus hub
De-Village, Persiaran Millenia 2, Bandar Baru Enstek
“Rapid KL will also provide feeder bus services in the circuit area to help visitors travel to key locations,” it said, adding that the service will be available from 7am to 12am from October 2 to 4.
Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Syahrul Azmir Ahmad Zaki, in the same statement, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting international events while boosting public transport use.
“The hosting of this prestigious international racing event at the Sepang International Circuit is a highly anticipated moment for motorsport fans in the country. Rapid KL is proud to cooperate in making this event a success by providing transport facilities to help facilitate visitors’ movement,” he said.
Rapid KL said the shuttle buses will undergo safety inspections and be monitored throughout the service period, with personnel stationed at strategic locations around the venue to assist visitors and manage passenger movement.
It advised visitors to plan their journeys, follow instructions from staff, and queue up to board and alight the buses.
The F1 Gulf Air Bahrain GP will be held at SIC from October 2 to 4. Malaysia was chosen to host the Bahrain GP following challenges due to the West Asia conflict.
