SHAH ALAM, Sept 19 — The media plays an important role as a bridge between local authorities and the community to ensure that information on development, services and current issues is conveyed accurately.
Shah Alam Mayor Dato’ Zabidah Safar said the media helps the public understand various developments and efforts undertaken by local councils for the benefit of residents.
“The role of the media is very important to the council and the people as it provides information to help the public understand various matters.
“Every report and coverage must be produced with integrity and responsibility to ensure that the information conveyed to the public is accurate and clear,” she said when met at the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) and Media Synergy Gala Night 2025 at Hilton Hotel, Glenmarie, here last night.
According to Zabidah, MBSA is always open to working with the media, including by providing feedback and explanations on issues raised, and expressed hope that this would strengthen ties and cooperation between the two parties.
The Gala Night was held as a token of appreciation for media practitioners who have covered and reported on various developments involving the local authority’s administration.
