KUANTAN, Sept 18 — Police are hunting three men who fled after a fatal three-vehicle crash on Jalan Mempaga-Sertik in Bentong on Monday. The trio are also suspected of being linked to a vehicle theft case.
Acting Pahang police chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob said the suspects, aged in their 20s and 30s, had been identified, while the man who rented the vehicle to them had been detained.
“The detained man, who is in his 30s, tested positive for drugs and has been remanded pending charges in court,” he told reporters after attending the monthly assembly at the Pahang Contingent Police Headquarters here today.
The accident occurred on Monday when a motorcyclist was killed after a Perodua Myvi and a Honda HR-V collided on Jalan Mempaga-Sertik in Bentong.
The Bentong police chief had earlier said the driver and two passengers of the Perodua Myvi were believed to have abandoned the car and fled into a nearby oil palm plantation after the crash.
