SHAH ALAM, Sept 7 – An elbow injury he has been suffering from for the past four months did not stop Badrul Hisam Musa from winning gold in the F13 discus throw event at Para SUKMA 2026.
Badrul Hisam said the pain in his elbow was one of the biggest challenges he faced throughout his preparations for the national Games.
“I am very grateful to Allah for the gold medal and the new Games record that I managed to achieve this time.
“I have sacrificed a lot for this gold medal and, in fact, I have been struggling with an elbow injury for the past four months.
“But Alhamdulillah, I still had the opportunity to win gold despite struggling with the injury,” he said.
Badrul also thanked the Selangor State Sports Council (MSNS) for the support and training preparations provided ahead of the biennial Games.
He said the success was also the result of the guidance of his coach, who always ensured that he performed at his best.
Badrul also dedicated the victory to his parents and family members who were present to support him at the competition venue.
Following the achievement, he expressed hope of maintaining the momentum and contributing a gold medal for the country at the ASEAN Para Games next year.
