Pickup truck owners must apply for BUDI Diesel 100-litre topup

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 31 — Owners of private diesel vehicles such as pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) who haven’t applied for the additional monthly 100-litre BUDI Diesel quota must do so on the BUDI Madani portal, said the Finance Ministry (MOF).

It said this would mean recipients’ monthly entitlement would be increased from 300 to 400 litres starting tomorrow.

It added that those who previously received approval for the additional 100 litres need not submit a new application.

“For owners of pickups and SUVs who were previously approved for an additional 100 litres, their eligibility will be automatically adjusted to 400 litres from September 1, 2026,” said MOF in a statement today.

It said that more than half a million owners of private diesel vehicles are eligible to apply for the additional benefit.

Meanwhile, the monthly basic limit for BUDI Madani will be increased from 200 to 300 litres starting tomorrow, as announced by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in his Merdeka address.

The adjustment will be automatically implemented for BUDI95 and BUDI Diesel recipients.

Sixteen million users currently enjoy subsidised RON95 at RM1.99 per litre, while more than 700,000 people enjoy subsidised diesel at RM2.10 per litre.
