PUTRAJAYA, Aug 27 — A former Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) chairman and a former Treasury secretary-general arrived at the Magistrate’s Court here today for remand proceedings in connection with an investigation stemming from the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report into the institution.
Both men, in their 60s, arrived at 9.31 am wearing orange Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) attire.
Also seen at the court was a former TH chief executive officer who was previously remanded on August 21.
Yesterday, MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman confirmed that the two men had been detained at 4 pm after presenting themselves at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya to assist in the investigation.
The TH RCI report, made public on July 29, documented various management and operational weaknesses at the institution between 2014 and 2020 and identified several problematic investments requiring a forensic audit.
The report also highlighted evidence of suspicious transactions and the concealment of information.
