Two injured, five arrested in Pandamaran armed brawl

KLANG, Aug 24 — Police have detained five men following an armed brawl at an eatery in Pandamaran on Saturday night, leaving two injured.

South Klang district police chief Lim Jit Huey said the suspects, aged between 18 and 25, were arrested yesterday following investigation over the incident that happened along Jalan Chan Ah Choo, New Straits Times reported.

“The incident occurred at 11.30pm on August 22 at an eatery on Jalan Chan Ah Choo, Pandamaran.

“Two men, aged 22 and 26, were assaulted by several suspects. The victims suffered injuries to their faces and noses and received outpatient treatment at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital,” he said in a statement.

Lim also said the Klang Magistrates’ Court granted a three-day remand order for the five suspects until Wednesday, adding that the motive for the brawl is being investigated.

The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for armed rioting, which carries a penalty of up to five years’ prison, a fine, or both upon conviction.
