Sabak Bernam aquaculturists, farmers receive feed aid

SABAK BERNAM, Aug 24 — Eighty-nine local farmers and aquaculturists today received the Resilience Aid 2026 to ease their feed costs and support their continued production.

State executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato’ Izham Hashim said the aid was presented to recipients during the Sabak Bernam Agriculture Aid Tour stop at Vetmart Sungai Nibong in Sekinchan here today.

He added that the initiative reflects the state government’s concern for challenges faced by agriculture and agrofood sector players, especially amid global economic uncertainties.

“Eighty-nine recipients in Sabak Bernam received this incentive to ease aquaculture and farming feed costs, and ensure productive activities remain resilient,” he said in a Facebook post.

Izham said the Selangor government will continue expanding support for the group to improve their operation and production capacities and so the state’s agrofood sector keeps growing and contributing to the food security agenda.

On April 16, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced Phase 1 of the Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package (SREP), initiatives under which included RM100 Kita Selangor vouchers for 50,000 households for six months and the Selangor Nutrition (NutriSel) free meals programme in 873 schools statewide.
