GOMBAK, Aug 23 — Selangor People’s Tuition Programme (PTRS) modules are being distributed in Kelantan, with around 2,500 students in Forms 4 and 5 benefiting from the initiative, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He added that the programme has helped 160,000 Selangor students from families less able to pay for tuition classes.
“Our modules have been brought to an NGO in Kelantan, now in two territories there are 2,500 Forms 4 and 5 students in Kelantan whom we are helping with (Kota Lama assemblyman) Dr Hafidzah (Mustakim) for tuition and education programmes,” he said when officiating the Al-Amin Education Centre Bhd Carnival here yesterday.
He also said the modules help students prepare for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), and the programme in Kelantan has received encouraging response.
“We show (our capabilities) not with competing leadership voices, but (with) programmes. Thank God, the programme is being (well) received,” he added.
Amirudin said the expansion of the modules to Kelantan proves that the education approach can benefit students outside Selangor.
PTRS provides learning modules to students without the means to pay for tuition classes.
