KLANG, Aug 18 — The Selangor men’s cricket team today made up for their 2024 loss by clinching gold in their SUKMA final against Johor at Bayuemas Oval here.
The state squad stayed dominant with 211 runs compared with Johor’s 109 runs, ending their competition’s reign as T50 cricket champion.
Johor had to settle for silver, while Kelantan took bronze.
Selangor cricket coach Roshan Senna Singh said the victory was a meaningful one as his charges were committed, disciplined and worked hard to train.

“I am so happy, proud and satisfied with the performance of my players who proved their worth this SUKMA,” Roshan said. “This gold definitely belongs to them. For this T50 cricket event, Selangor definitely stands out from other teams.”
Selangor made full use of its home advantage this SUKMA after settling for silver in 2024 in Sarawak.
