KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 — Air quality nationwide improved as at 10 am today compared with last night, with only Johan Setia in Klang recording an unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) reading.
The Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System portal stated that the area recorded 151, which falls within the unhealthy category.
Meanwhile, 58 areas recorded moderate API readings of between 51 and 100, while another eight areas recorded good air quality with readings below 50.
An API reading between zero and 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and readings above 300 are classified as hazardous.
The API data are updated hourly based on readings from 68 air quality monitoring stations nationwide.
