SHAH ALAM, Aug 3 — A forest fire covering an estimated seven acres broke out in a hilly area near the Sepang district police headquarters (IPD) early this morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Ashbar said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 1.28am.
A team from the KLIA Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), assisted by personnel from the Sepang BBP, was deployed to the scene.
"The incident commander reported that the fire involved a hilly forest adjacent to the Sepang IPD, with the affected area estimated at seven acres.
"Firefighting operations are ongoing, and the station chief has been informed," he said.
Ashrul added that 14 firefighters are involved in the operation, using one fire rescue tender, one light fire rescue tender, and one water tanker.
