SEREMBAN, Aug 1 — Two senior Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) leaders suffered defeats in the Negeri Sembilan state election today, with DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke losing the Chennah seat and incumbent Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun falling in Linggi.

Loke failed to retain the Chennah state seat after losing to Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Siow Kong Choon.

Based on unofficial results, Loke, who is the transport minister, secured 4,413 votes while Siow from MCA garnered 5,522 votes as of 8.51pm, Bernama reported.

Loke had held the Chennah state seat since 2013.

Aminuddin, meanwhile, was defeated in the Linggi state seat in a three-cornered contest.

Based on unofficial results, the Negeri Sembilan Harapan chairman lost to BN candidate Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli, who successfully retained the seat.

The other candidate was Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s (Bersatu) Datuk Zamri Md Said.

Aminuddin was previously a four-term Sikamat state assemblyman before he decided to contest in Linggi.
