SHAH ALAM, July 19 - The Torch Run for the 22nd Malaysia Games (SUKMA) and Para SUKMA Selangor 2026 continued its journey at the Subang Jaya City Council today, further building public excitement ahead of the country's biggest multi-sport event.
The flag-off ceremony at Subang Parade, was officiated by state executive councillor for youth, sports, and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi.
Also in attendance were Selangor SUKMA contingent chief Abbas Salimmi Che Adzmi @ Azmi, SUKMA XXII and Para SUKMA Selangor 2026 Secretariat chief executive officer Dato' Mohd Yazid Sairi, Subang Jaya Mayor Dato' Amirul Azizan Abdul Rahim, and Selangor Sports Council executive director Mohamad Nizam Marjugi.
The programme forms part of the statewide SUKMA and Para SUKMA Selangor 2026 Torch Run series, organised across Selangor as a symbolic effort to foster unity and rally public support for the biennial multi-sport event.
The torch run also brings together participants from various segments of the community, helping to build momentum and raise awareness ahead of the hosting of SUKMA XXII and Para SUKMA Selangor 2026.
The 22nd SUKMA will be held from August 15 to August 24, while the Para SUKMA 2026 is scheduled to take place from September 5 to September 14.
