SHAH ALAM, July 15 — Eight motorcycles were seized and 61 summonses issued during an operation by the Kuala Langat District Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPTD) in Bandar Saujana Putra on Sunday.
Kuala Langat police said Op Samseng Jalanan aimed to ensure compliance with traffic laws, with the deployment of one senior officer from Kuala Langat BSPTD and 13 personnel.
It said the operation lasted from 5.30pm to 11.30pm, and saw 80 people and 70 motorcycles inspected.
“Sixty-one summonses were issued for various traffic offences including lack of a driving licence, lack of insurance coverage, not wearing a helmet, lack of a registration number, lack of a rear view mirror, modified exhaust, not displaying the L or P sticker, and others.
“Eight motorcycles were also seized during the operation,” it said in a Facebook post last night.
Kuala Langat police said that anti-road thug operations would be conducted periodically to improve road safety in the district.
