SHAH ALAM, July 14 — The 10th edition of the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) will feature seven major segments when it returns in October, said Invest Selangor Bhd chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris.
He said preparations for this year’s summit, to be held from October 14 to 17, are going smoothly.
“The Kuala Lumpur edition will gather seven flagship segments, namely, the Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo (SPARK), Selangor ASEAN Business Conference (SABC), Selangor Investment Forum (SIF), Selangor TechSphere Summit, Selangor International Care Expo, AI and Semiconductor Summit, and other supporting programmes,” he told reporters after the Business Linkages and Advancement Programme (BLAST) launch at Concorde Hotel here today.
Organised by Invest Selangor, SIBS has grown into one of the country’s largest business expos, gathering investors, industry leaders, policymakers, manufacturers and entrepreneurs to explore business opportunities, forge partnerships and showcase Selangor as a preferred investment destination.
The milestone 10th edition also reflects the state’s broader push to expand its economic footprint across the region through the new SIBS@ASEAN initiative.
Hasan added the recent SIBS@ASEAN in Bandung, Indonesia, drew more than 400 participants from both Selangor and West Java.
“The exhibition focused on the education and medical tourism sectors, while the accompanying business forum featured discussions on aerospace, rail and mobility, electrical and electronics, and the creative and technology industries.
“The response was encouraging, with participants expressing strong interest in exploring opportunities in the West Java market,” he said.
Building on that momentum, Hasan added, SIBS in Kuala Lumpur will showcase a broader range of industries and investment opportunities through its seven core segments, with hopes to cement Selangor’s position as a regional investment and business hub.
