KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 — Actress Tisha Shamsir pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate's Court today to a charge of self-administering three types of dangerous drugs earlier this week.
Tisha, 40, whose real name is Shanorbiah Shamsir Alam, was charged after a urine test allegedly found methamphetamine, amphetamine, and ketamine in her system.
The offence was allegedly committed at the restroom of the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division office at the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters at 7.30am on Tuesday (July 7).
She was charged under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a maximum fine of RM5,000 or imprisonment of up to two years, as well as supervision for between two and three years, upon conviction.
Magistrate Khairunissak Hassni allowed bail of RM1,000 with one surety and fixed October 8 for case mention and submission of documents.
Tisha, who was wearing a face mask, arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Courts Complex at 8.49am, accompanied by three security personnel.
Earlier reports said the actress, known for her roles in police drama series, was arrested at an entertainment outlet in the capital after testing positive for drugs.
