SHAH ALAM, July 6 — The Selangor State Education Department (JPNS) has confirmed a stabbing incident at a secondary school during which a student was injured.
In a statement today, JPNS said the student is in hospital.
“Police have arrested a suspect following a stabbing incident at a school in Selangor today.
“The department is fully cooperating with the police investigation,” it said.
It added that its priority is to ensure the student receives the best possible treatment and that appropriate assistance is extended to her family.
It also mobilised a team of counsellors to provide psychosocial support to students, teachers and school staff affected by the incident.
JPNS urged the public to refrain from speculating or sharing unverified information that could interfere with the investigation.
Earlier today, Kuala Langat police chief Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi confirmed the incident and that the victim is in stable condition.
Previously, a video circulating on social media showed a commotion at the school as a woman dressed in black brandished a knife while walking in the compound.
