SHAH ALAM, July 5 — The public is encouraged to take advantage of the Selangor Saring programme, which runs throughout July and offers free health screenings at six locations across the state.
State executive councillor for public health and the environment Jamaliah Jamaluddin said the initiative provides various check-ups, including physical health, blood and urine tests, cancer screenings, as well as eye and dental checkups.
"The screening offered is based on an assessment of individual risk factors through a preliminary screening form in the SELangkah app.
"The public is encouraged to register through SELangkah by filling out the screening form before choosing the suitable location and date for the examination," she said in a Facebook post.
The programme, which commenced yesterday, covered six designated locations: Sungai Ramal, Subang Jaya, Meru, Bandar Baru Klang, Taman Medan, and Rawang.
Selangor Saring is among the state government's initiatives that encourage early disease detection and increase public awareness of the importance of healthcare.
In the 2026 Selangor Budget, RM2.5 million was allocated to continue implementing the programme, which provides free health testing services to the public.
At least 8,000 Selangor citizens are expected to benefit from the programme this year, which focuses on early detection of serious diseases, including cancer and noncommunicable diseases.
Members of the public who require assistance or are facing issues with registration can contact the Selcare helpline on 1-800-22-6600.
