SHAH ALAM, July 2 — A motion on urban mobility transformation and urban safety debated during the Selangor Youth Assembly (ADN Muda) 2026 programme will be tabled at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting next month.
State Legislative Assembly Speaker Lau Weng San said the motion would be presented as a private member’s motion by a state assemblyman after being selected through a voting process during the ADN Muda sitting.
He said the motion on urban mobility and safety received the highest level of support, securing 22 votes from participants following the debate.
“Through the voting process, we selected Motion Number Three, which relates to urban mobility and safety. The motion has been chosen and will be tabled during the Assembly sitting this August.
“I believe one of the state assemblymen will be responsible for presenting it as a private member’s motion during the upcoming sitting. The Menteri Besar will also table the Second Selangor Plan, and I believe this issue of urban mobility and safety will receive considerable attention from many state assemblymen,” Lau said.
He was speaking during a media conference at the State Secretariat Building after chairing the ADN Muda sitting today.

Lau added that besides urban mobility and safety, over ADN Muda representatives also debated three other motions covering youth co-living housing, legal awareness among young people, and mental health.
“Of the four motions tabled, only three were approved before proceeding to the voting stage, with the urban mobility motion receiving the highest level of support with 22 votes.
“The first motion, relating to the co-living concept, was not approved after failing to secure sufficient support during the voting process,” he said.
ADN Muda was held over two days beginning yesterday, with 56 youths representing Selangor's state constituencies, selected from 232 applications.
All motions were decided by a vote, allowing participants to debate issues closely connected to the public's lives and propose solutions that could be brought before the State Legislative Assembly.
Introduced in 2014, the programme aims to expose young people aged between 18 and 35 to the democratic process, policy formulation and the workings of Selangor's legislative branch.
