SHAH ALAM, June 30 — The search and rescue (SAR) operation of a local man believed to have jumped off a bridge near Taman Muhibbah, Banting, on Saturday (June 27) has ended after he was found drowned behind a factory yesterday.

Malaysia Gazette reported that Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the victim, 29, was found at 10.10am after a 52-hour search effort, approximately 17km away from where he was reported missing.

The SAR operation, which entered its third day yesterday, was conducted in coordination with the police.

“(We carried out) patrols and monitoring via boat, covering a distance of 18km up to the Pulau Carey and Bandar Seri Ehsan areas.

“The search, however, ended when the victim was found near the back of a factory at 10.10am this morning,” he said.

Previously, the media reported that the Banting Fire and Rescue Station team found a Myvi on the bridge, believed to belong to the victim.

Based on closed-circuit television footage, the man is believed to have gotten out of the car and jumped off the bridge at around 6am.
