SHAH ALAM, June 26 — Yayasan Hijrah Selangor is offering loan restructuring from August to entrepreneurs facing cash flow issues, said its chief business officer Nilammasri Jaafar.

She said the initiative, parked under Phase 2 of the Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package (SREP), is targeting 6,000 entrepreneurs with inconsistent loan repayment records.

The group comprises traders still making repayments but are facing cash flow constraints that are affecting their ability to fulfil each month’s instalment amount, she explained.

“The resilience package will be implemented in August. Before this, Hijrah Selangor has (offered) loan restructuring, but this time we have identified 6,000 entrepreneurs who could have been affected in terms of cash flow.

“Some among them make repayments one month but can’t pay the next, meaning their repayment patterns are inconsistent.

“By our (standards), those with outstanding (repayments) of one to three months are eligible to be considered for (loan) restructuring,” she told Media Selangor.

Nilammasri said traders with an outstanding repayment amount of more than three months may obtain advice and be assessed for loan restructuring on a case-by-case basis.

She added that those interested may call or visit the Hijrah Credit Control and Recovery Department at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Building here, or visit any Hijrah Selangor branch statewide for more information.

Previously, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government is giving traders the choice to restructure their Hijrah Selangor loans under SREP Phase 2.

He added that this would help entrepreneurs face current economic challenges, including global supply chain disruptions that could affect businesses.

Six thousand traders with Hijrah Selangor loans are eligible for restructuring without being subject to extra interest or penalty charges, which would ensure business continuity.
