SHAH ALAM, June 24 — The Selangor Forestry Department will carry out a fresh survey of land boundaries in Kampung Bukit Sungai Puteh, Ampang Jaya, to determine the exact location of residents’ land lots following the discovery of several cases involving encroachment into forest reserve areas.
Lembah Jaya state assemblyman Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad said the measure is important to accurately identify the boundary between private land and forestry land, thereby preventing misunderstandings among residents.
“The Forestry Department will return to conduct a more detailed survey to determine the actual boundary between private land and forestry land.
“Once the process is completed, we will inform the affected residents and work towards a prudent solution together with the Forestry Department, the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ), and the village authorities,” he said when contacted by Media Selangor.
Syed Ahmad added that preliminary checks found that three houses had been identified as slightly encroaching on forestry land following measurements taken after a minor landslide incident in the village.
However, the actual number of affected lots can only be confirmed after a comprehensive survey covering the entire village has been completed.
“So far, only three houses have been identified, but we have requested the Forestry Department to conduct a detailed survey of the whole village.

“Once the survey is completed, we will be able to inform all residents and rectify any errors that may have occurred,” he said.
Meanwhile, discussions have been held with the Selangor Forestry Department, MPAJ, and village leaders to coordinate follow-up action.
Syed Ahmad noted that the initial findings suggests the issue may have resulted from inaccuracies in lot measurements made many years ago, rather than deliberate encroachment.
“My belief, as well as that of the village head and the Forestry Department, is that if any encroachment occurred, it was not intentional.
“That is why we want to carry out a new survey so that everyone understands the actual boundary positions and to prevent any future misunderstandings,” he said.
Affected homeowners will be given a reasonable period to make the necessary corrections, with the state government and relevant agencies assisting to facilitate the process.
“Ordinarily, if encroachment occurs, we would ask those involved to vacate the affected portion and return the area to the Forestry Department.
“Alhamdulillah (God be praised), the Forestry Department is providing a fairly long grace period for affected residents, and we will work closely with the village heads and MPAJ to ensure the rectification process proceeds smoothly,” Syed Ahmad said.
