BATU PAHAT, June 16 — The Transport Ministry (MOT) and the Road Transport Department (JPJ) are aiming to wrap up by July the MyLesen B2 programme, which helps youth receive valid motorcycle licences.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the initiative aims to expand access to safe and structured licensing, especially for young people and those facing financial difficulties.
RM10.5 million was allocated for the programme this year, to the benefit of more than 30,000 participants nationwide.
“We hope it will help more youth comply with the law when … riding motorcycles,” he said at a related event at SJKC Yong Peng 1 here today.
Loke said the MyLesen B2 Sekolah (MyB2S) programme, implemented with the Education Ministry (MOE), involves 60,000 students nationwide with an allocation of RM18.5 million.
The programme lets students earn a Learner’s Driving Licence (LDL) before undergoing motorcycle training and tests, starting with practical lessons.
