SHAH ALAM, June 12 — Johor will head to the polls on July 11, while Negeri Sembilan will hold its state election on August 1, Election Commission (EC) chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun announced today.
In a press conference in Putrajaya after a special EC meeting on both elections today, he said the campaign period for both elections will last 14 days, from the time candidates are chosen until 11.59pm on the eve of polling day.
Ramlan reminded voters to check their assigned polling centre, stream and voter number on the EC portal, the MySPR Semak app, or the EC hotline (03-8892 7218).
He added that the EC is offering election observer appointments to government agencies, non-governmental organisations and concerned groups to monitor the election process from nomination day until results are announced.
“They are allowed to observe at nomination centres, polling centres, counting centres and the official vote tallying centres, and must comply with all appointment conditions set by the EC,” Ramlan said.
