KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 — The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has allocated RM60.1 million in Loan Advance Payment (WPP) assistance to 40,099 new diploma students enrolling at public higher education institutions and polytechnics for the June 2026 intake.

Each eligible student will receive RM1,500 through the WPP to help cover part of the initial expenses associated with enrolling in higher education institutions, thereby easing the financial burden on their families.

It said WPP is offered to Malaysians who agree to receive the facility when applying for admission to public higher education institutions through UPUOnline or the respective public university admission portals.

Applicants must also meet the prescribed eligibility criteria, including having parents or guardians who are recipients of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah cash assistance programme.

“Since the WPP was introduced in 1999 until April 30, 2026, 999,838 students have benefited from the facility, involving an allocation of RM1.48 billion,” PTPTN said in a statement.

Students may check their WPP offer status via the myPTPTN application and redeem the facility at Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad branches nationwide beginning today by presenting their WPP offer letter and MyKad.

The validity period for the WPP is two months, from today until August 9.

Meanwhile, PTPTN chairman Datuk Seri Norliza Abdul Rahim said the corporation remains committed to ensuring access to higher education for all segments of society, regardless of socioeconomic background.

“This WPP initiative is intended to help cover part of the expenses incurred in the initial preparations of new students entering public universities and polytechnics,” she said.

Students wishing to obtain an education loan may do so online via the myPTPTN app according to the dates set by their respective public universities and polytechnics to ensure a smooth approval process.

In addition, applicants must have a National Education Savings Scheme account, which can be opened through the same application.
