SHAH ALAM, June 10 — Malaysian Society of Arborist (PArM) has expressed gratitude for Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz’s consent to be appointed the group’s Royal patron, effective April 20.
PArM said the appointment is a significant recognition of the society and reflects support for environmental sustainability and the arboriculture field in Malaysia.
Afzaa Fadini also has a deep interest in environmental conservation and sustainable development, and is an accredited arborist as Her Highness completed PArM’s Arborist Certificate Programme.
“PArM also highly appreciates Her Highness’ aspiration … that this role may support the society’s efforts to strengthen the arboriculture field and foster community awareness on the importance of tree care and environmental sustainability.
“With this Royal assent and patronage, (PArM) will continue to grow as a professional leader of tropical arboriculture and become a catalyst for national tree and green landscape conservation efforts for the benefit of the future generation,” the society said in a Facebook post yesterday.
PArM said Afzaa Fadini’s experience in and commitment to various sustainability initiatives are in line with the society’s objectives to empower the arborist profession and promote sustainable tree management in Malaysia.
