PETALING JAYA, May 5 — The second edition of the Gagasan Rumpun Selangor (GRS 2.0) tour for Petaling district kicked off today, with a focus on bringing the people closer together.

The event was made merrier by Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah and Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz, who visited the Denai Hijau @ Lengkok Golf SS7 adoptive project in Kelana Jaya.

The project is to build a 400m pedestrian walkway and recreational facilities, and will upgrade the site to a green corridor for public use and comfort.

The young Royal couple then mingled with the people at Wak Dol Kitchen in Shah Alam, before heading to the Selangor Public Works Department (JKR) headquarters in Section 17 for the building’s opening ceremony.

Later today, Tengku Amir Shah will visit Mamee Double-Decker (M) Sdn Bhd in Subang Jaya, and end today’s agenda at the Bukit Lanchong Village Development and Security Committee office.

Meanwhile, state executive councillor for rural development and unity Datuk Rizam Ismail said GRS 2.0 will continue in Hulu Langat for two days next week, followed by events in Sabak Bernam, Sepang, Gombak, Kuala Langat, and Hulu Selangor, before the grand closing in Klang in October.

“For this time, we introduced adoptive projects chosen by Tengku Amir Shah himself. His Highness wanted these projects to benefit the people (in terms of) their needs and infrastructure facilities,” Rizam said.

Previously, Rizam announced that GRS 2.0 adoptive projects would involve the construction, repair and maintenance of infrastructure, with a focus on upgrading damaged facilities to improve public safety.

GRS was launched to foster unity and a sense of community among Selangor residents.

In its first edition launched in February 2024, the GRS tour kicked off in Hulu Selangor and ended in Gombak.
