SHAH ALAM, June 9 — Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) in Klang has implemented several controls, including pruning trees and collaborating with local authorities, to address the bird nuisance on the premises.
HTAR explained that trees around the compound have become a habitat of pigeons and crows, which has increased the risk of these birds flying into the hospital buildings.
“To address this matter, HTAR has implemented periodic controls, including tree pruning by the concessionaire and continuous monitoring in ward areas and hospital buildings.
“HTAR is also collaborating with local authorities to strengthen efforts in controlling the bird nuisance in the hospital area,” it said.
The hospital emphasised that it takes this matter seriously and is committed to ensure the hospital is safe, clean, and conducive to patient, visitor, and staff well-being.
HTAR said it will take appropriate measures from time to time to reduce the risks of such incidents recurring.
Earlier, a viral video showed several pigeons entering an HTAR ward, sparking discussions on social media about cleanliness and safety standards at healthcare facilities.
