KLANG, March 20 — Nurses at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) were delighted to receive a surprise visit from Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari yesterday as part of his ‘Singgah Syawal’ programme.
From nursing assistants to staff nurses and matrons, they gathered around the menteri besar as he paid a special tribute to their dedication as frontline workers during Aidilfitri.
Many do not return to their hometowns, as the hospital requires a full workforce to provide round-the-clock care for patients.
“Therefore, this programme is a mark of appreciation for workers who continue to serve even during festive celebrations,” said Amirudin. “Their sacrifice is immense, having to leave their families behind to fulfil their duties to the people and the nation.”
More than 1,000 hospital staff received Aidilfitri food packs as a token of appreciation for remaining on duty on the morning of the first day of Syawal.
HTAR was the fifth stop in the menteri besar’s series of visits to key agencies across the state ahead of the festive holiday.
