KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 — Four train carriages that derailed recently near Chan Sow Lin Station have been successfully placed back on the tracks and returned to the depot for inspection and further action by Rapid KL's technical team.
Rapid KL, in a Facebook post today, said recovery works were carried out yesterday and early this morning, involving the coupling of the train cars with a specialised track vehicle to enable their safe and controlled removal from the site.
“Efforts are being intensified to ensure safe and comfortable train services for passengers can be restored as soon as possible,” the post said.
On Thursday, a train on the Ampang/Sri Petaling Line derailed near the station following a fault in a track switch, disrupting service schedules.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke yesterday said that the affected track was expected to resume operations no later than next Wednesday.
He said all stations along the Ampang/Sri Petaling Line remained operational, although services were running on a modified schedule to ensure train movements could continue throughout the recovery period.
