SHAH ALAM, April 21 — Twenty-three compound notices have been issued, and 28 pieces of equipment have been seized by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to date in a series of operations targeting illegal photography services operating around the KLCC area.

Additionally, four individuals were served court notices for failing to settle their compound fines.

“Enforcement actions were taken under the Hawkers Licensing By-Laws (WPKL) 2016,” it said in a statement today.

This follows its latest operation, Ops Lens Series 6/2026, focusing on Pintasan Saloma and the KLCC promenade on Sunday (April 19).

During this operation, four compound notices were issued to individuals found operating without authorisation, and various pieces of equipment, including mobile phones, were seized.

The operation was conducted jointly with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the Immigration Department, and the National Registration Department (JPN).

DBKL added that the Immigration Department and JPN inspected 31 individuals.

Four of them were issued notices by JPN under the National Registration Act 1990 (Amendment 2007), requiring them to present themselves for further investigation into the validity of their identification documents and citizenship status.

DBKL remains committed to monitoring and, from time to time, enforcing to ensure public areas remain safe from illegal photography services, which may pose safety risks, cause disturbances to visitors, and obstruct traffic flow.

“All seized equipment has been transferred to the DBKL confiscation store for documentation and further action.

“Members of the public may channel complaints or feedback through DBKL’s official platforms,” it said.
