Councils clamp down on unlicensed businesses in Kajang, Sepang

SHAH ALAM, April 17 — The Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) and Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) have initiated enforcement action against business premises operating without valid licences or permits, after receiving repeated complaints from the public.

MPSepang recently carried out enforcement around Salak Perdana, Taman Dahlia, Nilai Highway/Labohan Dagang, and Arena Warisan, where four compound notices (NTK) were issued against foreign nationals who had opened stalls there.

They were found to be in violation of Provision 3 of the Hawkers’ By-Laws (Sepang Municipal Council) 2007 and had their wares confiscated.

Meanwhile, MPKj carried out enforcement at business premises in Bandar Seri Putra, and issued compounds and notices of orders to cease operations.

“MPKj takes any company or institutional activity that operates without a license very seriously, particularly those involving the safety of inhabitants and the general public,” according to the council in a Facebook post.

MPKj will continue to strengthen surveillance and will not tolerate any party that fails to comply with the law, it said.

MPSepang officers remove the tent of an illegal hawker stall during inspections around Sepang, on April 16, 2026.

MPSepang also issued a stern warning to all hawkers to comply with current regulations and by-laws.

“MPSepang will continue to carry out enforcement activities to ensure that the administrative area is orderly, safe, and free of unlawful hawkers,” it said on Facebook.
