SHAH ALAM, Apr 16 — Majlis Perbandaran Selayang (MPS) has carried out a cleanup operation at an illegal dumping site in Taman Industri Bolton, Gombak, following complaints from residents.
The operation was conducted in collaboration with KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) to remove mixed waste piled up at the location on Monday.
“Yellow tape has also been installed to prevent irresponsible parties from repeating the offence.
“The public is reminded not to dispose of waste in public areas or unauthorised locations,” it said in a Facebook post.
MPS stressed that compounds of up to RM1,000 under the Local Government (Collection, Disposal and Disposal of Refuse) By-Laws 2007 will be imposed on offenders who persist.
“Monitoring of hotspot areas will continue and firm action will be taken against any parties involved in illegal dumping,” it added.
