AMPANG JAYA, April 14 — Selangor civil servants must remain neutral and adhere to government policies without being influenced by party politics in their daily duties, said State Secretary Datuk Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin.
He added that Selangor, as a dynamic state, needs civil servants with high integrity who are free of narrow-minded political influences to ensure effective service delivery.
“I want to remind you that we received complaints… some public employees congratulated the other side (opposition). This won’t do; we work for the government of the day.
“Whomever we mark (on ballot sheets), I don’t want to ask, because in the end service delivery requires trust. When there’s no trust in the organisation, it’s difficult to do work,” he said during the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) excellent service awards ceremony last night.
Fadzli asserted that trust in public institutions must be maintained with professionalism and a sense of duty that is free from political bias.
He also said civil servants are a main element in realising the state’s visions, as expressed by Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.
“Your loyalty isn’t just to your ceremonial dress, but must be reflected in each decision and in each operational service implemented.
“In line with Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar’s address during the Selangor state-level Madani Loyalty Tour recently, he emphasised that loyalty isn’t just lip service,” Fadzli reminded.
