KUALA LUMPUR, April 12 — Sabah FC managed to deny Selangor FC a full three points when they drew 1-1 at Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Stadium in Kelana Jaya last night.
Selangor FC’s Faisal Halim delighted home fans with a curve shot from left field to beat goalkeeper Damien Lim in the 31st minute.
But Sabah was quick to reply, with Fergus Tierney taking only two minutes to equalise with a goal after receiving a pass from defender Gabriel Peres.
A second half goal by Selangor FC’s Chrigor Moraes was ruled out by the Video Assistant Referee, and while both sides did have several shots at goal, the match remained 1-1 till the final whistle.
Tonight’s draw puts Selangor FC in a precarious position with their 43 points, only one point ahead of third-place Kuala Lumpur City FC, while Sabah remains in 10th place with 16 points.
Meanwhile, Imigresen FC and Penang FC had to settle for a point apiece when they fought to a goalless draw at Tuanku Syed Putra Stadium in Kangar, Perlis, last night.
Imigresen remains seventh in the league with 22 points and Penang is ninth with 20 points.
