SHAH ALAM, April 9 — Repeated complaints about a pile of trashed recyclables at a home here have resulted in the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) taking enforcement action today.
MBDK said 20 tonnes of recyclables were disposed of during the operation on a house in Taman Mewah Jaya, Klang.
It added that the operation started at 9.30am and ended at 1pm, and was launched following multiple complaints about the trash pile from residents on the i-Responz system.
“Checks revealed that the premises owner failed to manage their recyclables properly to the point of disturbing local residents and creating hygiene and local security risks.

“The integrated operation involved several departments including the MBDK Health Department, Engineering Department, Environmental Services Department and Enforcement Department to ensure cleanup was done thoroughly and efficiently,” MBDK said in a Facebook post today.
According to the council, the operation was launched to ensure the local community’s well-being and protect them from infectious diseases, as well as address the fire hazard present from piles of flammable material.
“The public is advised not to make residential premises a place to store recyclables to excess to the point of affecting the surroundings.
“Failure to follow this rule could result in strict enforcement action,” it added.
MBDK also asserted that this effort was in line with its commitment to ensure the city’s cleanliness and environmental sustainability.
